Developed and refined in Shoei's state-of-the-art, in-house wind tunnel facility, the RF-1400 boasts impressive improvements in aerodynamic performance, including a 6% reduction in lift and a 4% reduction in drag compared to the RF-1200. Optimal shell aerodynamics reduce wind noise around the helmet, and Vortex Generators on the sides of the shield reduce wind turbulence. All-new, airtight window beading provides a wind/waterproof seal, ensuring a quiet riding experience without blocking the road's informative sounds.
Utilizing Shoei's in-house wind tunnel, the designers relocated the center/forehead vent and equipped it with an additional air intake hole to increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet, achieving the optimal balance between airflow and silence.
The RF-1400 is equipped with a fully removable, washable, adjustable, and replaceable 3D Max-Dry Interior System II that dissipates sweat 2x faster than traditional nylon interiors. Newly designed cheek pads feature more volume on the bottom for greater comfort and reduced wind noise.
The CWR-F2 shield offers a 2D outside surface with 3D tech inside, providing optimized visibility, and the PINLOCK EVO fog-resistant system is 10% larger for improved vision. The completely redesigned CWR-F2 Base Plate System facilitates quicker, smoother shield changes and a new shield adjuster mechanism provides easier, more precise tuning.
The Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ Shell meets both SNELL M2020 and DOT standards, with hand-laid interwoven layers of fiberglass and lightweight high-performance fibers. The Emergency Quick Release System allows emergency medical personnel to easily and safely remove the cheek pads from an injured rider's helmet.
